Hello! My name is Rhea, and I am a recent postgraduate of the University of Oxford (Bachelor of Civil Laws, Distinction). I previously studied at Queen Mary University of London (LLB, First Class) and the University of Cambridge (MA Hons, Classics).
As an aspiring barrister, I spend most of my spare time participating in extracurricular law activities. I was awarded a 'Top Oralist' Prize at the Monroe E. Price Media Law Moot (out of 300 participants) in 2021, and have successfully represented two clients in the Social Security Tribunal with the Free Representation Unit. I have been awarded scholarships by Lincoln's Inn (the Lord Haldane Scholarship and Lord Denning Scholarship) to fund my studies.
Outside of law, I am an avid classical musician. From 2016-2019 I was a Choral Scholar with the Choir of Clare College Cambridge; this opportunity led me to perform in venues around the world including La Sagrada Familia and Notre Dame Cathedral. More recently, I have been a Singing Scholar at St James' Church, Piccadilly and sung with the London Philharmonic Choir.
I have been tutoring since 2019. I have experience teaching students aged 9-23 in a range of subjects, including 11+ preparation, Maths, English, Latin, Classical Greek, History and Law. I have experience in examination prep and interview prep for Oxbridge admissions, as well as assisting in preparing coursework.
My teaching focuses on improving student's understanding of the relevant exam syllabus and learning how to answer questions in line with examiners' expectations. I can also assist with coursework and dissertations, including planning, proofreading and editing, and exam strategy and preparation.
I provide bespoke teaching for each student, prioritising the topics which require urgent attention while boosting confidence. My lessons prioritise 'active learning' techniques for maximum efficiency and to boost true memorization and understanding of the subject matter.
My lessons typically last 40 minutes - 1 hour depending on the student's needs, and are conducted online. Transparency is essential, and I make progress notes after each session outlining what we have covered and the student's progress.
