Following a twenty year career in secondary and sixth form education, I have recently stepped away from the classroom, relocated from London to Lancashire, and have set up my own digital learning consultancy (www.rged.co.uk) and private tuition service. I am now able to enjoy spending more time with my family and two year old son, whilst still enjoying supporting schools and learners to be the best that they can be. I can offer tuition in Business GCSE and A Level, however I also have specific specialist experience in delivering and organising vocational qualifications such as BTEC and the Cambridge Technical suite. I can also offer training in MS Office, including MS Teams for education, MS Excel for data management as well as a range of other applications.
I am a fully qualified Business and IT teacher with over twenty years of teaching, middle management and leadership experience. My career has been split between two very contrasting schools. I spent my formative years in a rural school based in the New Forest and for the last 14+ years I have taught at in an inner-city comprehensive based in Kilburn, Northwest London. My most recent position in school was as Digital Learning and Innovation Lead for the whole school, and I am currently acting as a BTEC Quality Nominee for a Sixth Form college in South London.
I am a digital learning specialist, with a proven track record in developing bespoke online resources that create an engaging and transparent learning platform for students and their parents/carers. I am fluent in using MS Teams and Office 365, and have also delivered courses using Google Classroom and the Google Suite. I have a keen eye for detail, and ensure that all teaching and learning activities are linked to the exam boards' specifications, and that work is marked in line with the formal assessments.
