I am a graduate of Bristol University (Hons Physics with Mathematics). I am married with a teenage son (born 2007). My interests are music, gardening and genealogy. I am a chartered software engineer (CEng) and have previously worked in the defence software industry.
I am a fully qualified teacher and have worked in the Secondary, Tertiary and Offender Learning sectors. I have taught Mathematics, Physics and IT up to GCE A Level. I have taught students aged from 8 to nearly 70!
I aim to tailor tuition for the individual learner. At the intial session we agree a plan of action based on the learner's needs. We continue to review this plan as needs change. The tuition is intended to support study at school or college or individual study (eg distance learning courses). Sessions are informal but focussed and enjoyable. I set homework if required but prefer to concentrate on understanding and practice within the session. I like to support teaching by using appropriate computer software and simulations.
