Unfortunately I am now fully booked for this academic year.
I am the Head of Mathematics at a local Grammar school. I am passionate about maths, and enjoy finding ways to make mathematics accessible to all.
I am an examiner (OCR, Edexcel both GCSE and A-level) with in depth knowledge of the maths GCSE and A-Level courses.
I have over 20 years of teaching experience, working in a variety of schools across the country and abroad. I have been a GCSE and A level examiner for the past 10 years keeping up to date with all of the changes and requirements needed for the latest GCSEs and A level exams.
I have tutored regularly over the past 10 years at GCSE and A level with my students generally receiving above target grades.
Maths is all about making mistakes - you need not be afraid to make them, but you need to be aware of them and how to correct them.
When I meet a new tutee I assess where they currently are (what knowledge is secure) and then plan a learning journey running alongside their school curriculum to instil confidence in their ability, and purposeful practice to their studies.
HOWEVER - Maths is fun, and that is mainly what I aspire to encourage - a love of learning.
