OFFERING ONLINE TUTORING
I am an experienced private tutor who has been tutoring for five years now. I've received a terrific response from all students and thoroughly enjoyed seeing their confidence and ability in maths and science grow. I am a 24-year-old PhD student at the University of Bristol. I recently graduated with a First Class Master's in Engineering, achieving firsts in all the maths modules. At school I received A*A*A at A-level in maths, physics, and biology. At GCSE, I got 6 A*s and 4As.

Tutoring Experience

I have tutored over 20 students across all age ranges and exam boards. They've been a range of abilities, but so far every student I've tutored has met or exceeded the grade they were aiming for! All students who weren't leaving school or dropping the subject at A-level have kept me on for the next academic year.

I am also involved with the outreach program of Engineers Without Borders. I regularly attend local schools of all ages, where I lead workshops raising awareness about engineering, science and sustainability. This has led to me teaching children a wide range of topics under the STEM umbrella. Furthermore, I spent the summer working at a summer camp in Virginia, USA so I am no stranger to working with children!

I am considering following a teaching career one day.

Tutoring Approach

For the student:
My approach is flexible. I personally found the best way to learn was to do a bit of theory followed by loads of examples. However, if the student does not respond brilliantly to this method, I can easily adapt to suit their needs. In the past, I have been happy to set homework and answer any extra questions that the student has after the lesson over email. Being a student myself, I understand the stress of exams and have found that I am able to relate well with the student. I'm also very patient!!

For the parents/guardians:
I appreciate that plans change and suddenly one evening is not as convenient as another anymore. I try to be as flexible as possible and am happy to rearrange sessions at short notice. I'm happy to talk through university options and A-level choices with the student if you'd like. I also hold an enhanced DBS certificate.
