My name's Robert, I'm from London and I'm a Delta qualified EFL teacher with 17 years teaching experience.
Having a background in the creative arts, I consider myself a teacher who is able to create and design imaginative and stimulating lessons using both traditional and new media.
I first qualified as an EFL teacher in 2005, after taking Trinity Tesol at the St. George's Institute in London.
I have worked in a number of language schools and academies in the UK and Spain, including the Wimbledon School of English, Frances King School of English and International House (Madrid).
In 2018, I passed the Delta and have been working mostly freelance since then, mainly doing in-company training in collaboration with London English Tutors.
I specialise in examination preparation, focussing on the Cambridge exams, IELTS, FCE, CAE, CPE and Linguaskill. I have also taught TOEIC, having guided literally hundreds of students to exam success over the years through a combination of clear exam strategies and confidence building.
I also teach general and business English. My teaching method is very much rooted in 'the communicative approach'. That is to say, my classes are learner-centred, with a focus on students producing and using new language in a natural, relaxed and fun environment.
I use authentic materials whenever possible, sourced from both hi-tech and traditional platforms, striking a good balance of both, always based on my learners individual and specific needs.
