When I’m not working, I love to spend time with my wife, our rescue dog, Luna, and our young son. We love to travel, and in fact spent two years living and teaching in South America between 2017 and 2019.
Since qualifying as a teacher in 2013, I have extensive experience teaching English across years 7-13. I have taught both GCSE English Language and Literature for 10 consecutive years in a range of secondary schools, as well as English Language, English Literature, and combined Language and Literature at A Level.
Alongside teaching English, I spent 7 years working as an Assistant Head of Year in one of the largest secondary schools in the UK, where I gained a wealth of experience in pastoral care, with a particular focus on safeguarding young people.
The student’s needs always come first; I take the time to understand every young person I work with, so I can tailor my teaching to what they need and how they learn. I work hard to build students’ confidence so that learning can happen as effectively as possible, and, ultimately, so they make the best progress they can.
