Hi, I'm Bobby! I am a Director of Maths at a local secondary school with 10+ years of outstanding examination results. The school I work in was recently awarded “School of the Decade” by the Times Education Supplement
As well as teaching maths I also coach a lot of football. I was appointed as the Head Coach of the Great Britain Special Olympics Football squad, and I have travelled to Los Angeles and Abu Dhabi with the squad over the past few years.
I have been teaching maths for over 10 years in secondary schools and have regularly helped my students achieve outstanding outcomes in GCSE examinations.
I am a teaching for mastery specialist, through working with the NCETM, and enjoy using manipulatives with my students to help develop my students understanding of mathematics.
I will work quickly to identify topics to teach that can have a big effect in building their confidence in maths as well as improve performance with GCSE examinations. Every student is an individual and as a result my approach towards helping them achieve their goals is adaptable to their learning needs.
I am flexible in how to explain different topics to my students, and take pride in being able to adapt my approach to suit the student's needs. A calm and friendly approach is important when supporting anyone in their learning, and it's vital to have a relationship that allows to student to say that they don't understand when they're working on something.
