I am a full-time Teacher of Physics at the Royal Grammar School in Guildford. By training, I am a mathematical physicist. I have a a PhD obtained from the University of Surrey, also in collaboration with the Oxford Mathematical Institute.
When I do not teach or study, you may see me exercising (I am a keen runner, especially for long distances), or playing music (I am a self-taught guitar player), or reading a book.
I have been teaching at the Royal Grammar School in Guildford since September 2023. I have experience with both GCSE and A-level physics.
Before RGS, I have been teaching for 4 years at the Surrey International Study Centre. There, I taught physics, maths, and computer science.
I have been tutoring 1:1 for a number of years as well, starting during my PhD years.
I believe in learning by doing as the only meaningful approach to learning. In my sessions, I prioritise doing practice questions and, when needed, fill those with the relevant subject knowledge.
I am an adaptive teacher, and I can flex my approach depending on the student I have in front of me.
I believe in the power of teaching and learning through feedback, which means I value a dialogic approach.
