Having enjoyed my own education hugely I have since spent many years in the education world in different roles. I am an open and friendly individual, keen to find common ground with my students and push them to be the best they can be. I have a wide array of interests, from sport to cooking, from travelling to reading and cinema, I like to build strong relationships and tailor my teaching in way that students can relate to, allowing them to excel and improve their results hugely.
I have 3 years classroom experience in both primary and secondary schools, and have a range of interests that can engage all types of students. I've worked as social and natural sciences teacher in a primary School in Spain, and a maths and literacy teacher in a secondary school in Manchester. As well as that I have tutored pupils in targeted interventions over 6 months, boosting the GCSE maths grades of 5 students from 3s and 4s to 6s and 7s. I have also tutored A-level Spanish, GCSE biology, and English as a Foreign Language.
I believe that the teaching approach depends on the individual learner, whether that be building confidence through practice or discovering learning more for themselves. As a teacher I think it's important to build a good relationship with my pupils to help motivate them and focus my teaching on a mixture of key skills, problem solving abilities and exam technique.
