I am a qualified and experienced Mathematics teacher currently working at an Ofsted Outstanding institution. With a strong academic background (BSc in Mathematics & Statistics and PGCE from the University of Exeter), I have over three years of classroom experience teaching KS3, GCSE, and A-Level students. My passion for mathematics and student success drives me to make complex concepts accessible and engaging for all learners. I am fluent in English and Russian, with basic Spanish and Irish, and I enjoy connecting with students from diverse backgrounds.
Current Role: Mathematics Teacher
I teach a full range of Key Stage 3 to A-Level Mathematics. My students have consistently achieved outstanding results, including a GCSE Progress 8 score above +1.0 and over 90% of students in my Year 11 classes achieving grades 7–9 in 2023 and 2024.
My teaching philosophy is built on the equation: What + Why = How. I focus on delivering clear, structured lessons that explain not just the what of mathematics, but also the why, ensuring students understand the real-world relevance behind every topic.
My approach emphasises:
- Adaptive teaching using low-stakes assessments and targeted questioning
- Long-term retention strategies through regular retrieval and review
- A calm, structured, and encouraging learning environment
- Personalised support based on each student’s goals and learning style
Whether working with high-attaining students or those who need extra support, I strive to build both competence and confidence in every learner.
