I am a final-year PhD candidate in Drama at the University of Manchester. In January 2024, I was awarded Associate Fellow status (AFHEA) by the University of Manchester in recognition of my teaching and learning achievements. Before immigrating to the UK in 2021, I worked as an English tutor in primary and secondary schools, as well as in leading language centres in my home country.
I enjoy reading, walking, listening to music, and writing plays.
Since 2009, I have been teaching English as a foreign language, gaining extensive experience in designing lesson plans, developing syllabi, and assessing students. I have taught English to both children and adult learners, helping them improve their language skills and achieve their academic goals. My expertise includes preparing students for exams such as the FCE, CAE, and IELTS. Additionally, I have experience tutoring creative writing, particularly in writing short stories and plays, for both young and adult learners. My passion for creative expression has allowed me to inspire students to explore their imagination and develop their writing skills. I am qualified to tutor a range of subjects, including English literature, English as a foreign language, and creative writing. My approach is adaptable, catering to learners of all ages and skill levels, ensuring that each student receives the support and guidance they need to succeed. With my diverse teaching background, I am committed to fostering a love for the English language and literature, helping students build their confidence, and achieving their learning objectives. My goal is to create an engaging and supportive environment where all learners can thrive.
I believe that learning should be fun and empowering, helping students to gain confidence in their abilities and study skills. I am a patient tutor who allows students to set a comfortable pace for each lesson, ensuring they feel at ease while learning. My teaching philosophy centers around creating a student-led environment, where learners actively participate in their education and feel supported throughout the process. By encouraging students to take ownership of their learning journey, I aim to foster a sense of independence and motivation. This approach not only enhances their understanding of the subject matter but also builds their confidence in tackling new challenges. Ultimately, my goal is to create a positive and engaging atmosphere where students feel encouraged, capable, and excited about learning.
