Experienced GCSE and A level tutor, I am a former teacher and freelance writer. Tutoring allows me to share my skills and passion for literature without the pressures of the classroom, and to offer my help in supporting students through those stressful but important exam years. I have a 2:1 degree in English Literature and a 1st in a Creative Writing MA.
I'm a former teacher, and have been tutoring GCSE, A level and key stage three English for many years now, with excellent results. I have tutored students of all abilities, from the very able who want to aim for the highest grades, to those who just need that pass. I also teach online.
Regardless of ability, I want all students to feel that, with help and practice, they can improve their writing, reading and understanding of English. I work quickly to identify each student's specific needs and plan individual lessons tailored to them. Keeping that end exam firmly in mind, I organise our time effectively and keep myself up to date with changes in specifications. I'm happy to set homework and mark it. Boosting confidence is key; I have a relaxed and friendly approach which helps put students at their ease.
