I am a highly experienced tutor and a graduate of University College, Dublin, from which I graduated with a First Class Honours degree in English Literature. I have won multiple awards for poetry and my writing has been published in acclaimed journals. I have experience tutoring young people at various levels, and am particularly experienced with exam prep, essay writing and comprehension/close reading. I am also happy teaching primary ages. I am very familiar with the English, Drama and Art History GCSE/A-Level curriculum and have been described as highly capable and communicative as well as fun and approachable.
I have worked with all ages. Knowledge of A-Level and GCSE syllabi, able to travel. Lessons are usually one or two hours but I can offer up to four hours at £25-£55 per hour.
I have privately tutored in London, Glasgow and Dublin. I am a published poet and have led seminars and workshops at universities and galleries, bringing a strong academic and creative approach to learning.
I have a multi-faceted and tailored approach to teaching, allowing students to engage on their own terms so they can genuinely retain lesson content rather than learning by rote. Given my own high level of experience in academic and literary contexts, I aim to inspire confidence in students by instilling my own sense of enthusiasm for literature.
