Ying Ru

I have been playing the piano for twenty years as a classically trained pianist. Since then, I had been awarded in several competitions, including classical music and pop music competitions. Recently graduated from Anglia Ruskin University, and is an HCPC registered music therapist. Moreover, I had a neurologic music therapist certificate. I am looking forward to gaining experience in teaching the piano to people of all ages and serving music therapy sessions for special needs.

Tutoring Experience

Have two music therapy placements. One was in a special school, I provided music therapy sessions for individual children with Autism and physical disabilities. The other is in an adult's neurorehabilitation hospital. I led the choir in the ward and provided individual and group sessions.

Tutoring Approach

My teaching approach would be spontaneous and flexible, depending on the individual needs. For instance, for children with special needs, I will do the assessment, and set up goals. For teaching the piano, I would like to emphasize expressing the emotions and recognizing physical posture while playing the piano.
