I am a Poetic Practice MA graduate with five years professional experience in the areas of literature, education and personal development. A poet-artist, I recently received Arts Council funding to research and develop a collaborative performance project. I am a very positive, calm and patient person, good at listening and sensitive to different needs and behaviours.
While an MA student I led 30 postgraduate creatives in an AHRC funded three-day conference. At Birkbeck and Royal Holloway universities I have assessed coursework for BA students and recently I ran a one-day workshop for dance MA students at Laban. I have also worked as an assistant for an adult with a learning disability and at LeSoCo as a member of their Student Support team and as an examinations invigilator.
I will adhere strongly to the specifications of the examining board to ensure that the tutee is working efficiently to achieve their best grade. Together we will identify areas of concern in order to focus individual study. I will arrive to each session having thoroughly prepared relevant texts with as much background reading as possible. If needed, I will advise in appropriate revision methods. Overall I will seek to demystify any areas of comprehension and to help improve writing skills where necessary, in order to build confidence and dispel any worries the tutee may have in approaching this area of study.
