I am a qualified Maths teacher with over 20 years experience. I have taught all ability students. My satisfaction is seeing my student understand concepts, whether that be a at Grade 9 or 5. I have travelled and studied abroad, hence giving me a wider perspective on different education systems; in my teaching i often draw on these experiences. I completed exams equivalent to GCSEs in France where I lived at the time. I currently live in Edgware, teaching at a secondary school (KS3 AND KS4) on a full-time basis. I, myself, have home-educated my children at KS1 AND KS2, which holds me in good stead in teaching Maths at primary level. I have worked with many students as a private tutor, some from FirstTutors, but mostly from recommendations from them.

Tutoring Experience

I am a qualified Mathematics teacher and have been teaching 11-16 year olds since 2005. I have also taught AS and A level Mathematics since 2009. I have a degree in Civil engineering which gives me an excellent working backgound in Mathematics and therefore I am able to make Mathematics interesting relevant to real life. I have been delivering private tuition for the past 10 years, mostly at GCSE level, but also at primary level.

Tutoring Approach

I like to discuss the preferred approach with parents and tutees to maximise the potential of pupils. I can either set up a syllabus to help you, or you can choose yourself which topics you want help with. I have text books to work from as well as ICT resources, access to past exam papers form different boards, and other resources to aid learning. I'm flexible in my approach; communication is key.
