I am a qualified teacher with an excellent record in improving both confidence and results. I am calm and patient and quickly build a rapport with my pupils, setting them at ease to make learning easier.
I have over 10 years' experience in teaching and tuition, and I have worked in both mainstream and special schools, as well as in universities and with home-schooled pupils.
I have worked with high-achieving children who need support to make even further progress, children who find it difficult to access the teaching they receive in class - including those with dyslexia, autism and ADHD, and adults who wish to learn for a variety of reasons, such as trainee teachers who need help passing the skills tests, and business people who need foreign language skills for visits abroad.
I have lots of experience of SATs tuition, including working in schools with children who need an extra boost, and I have also worked with families who have chosen to home educate their children.
My priority is always to build confidence so that my pupils feel able to achieve.
For maths and English tuition, I work with them to establish the areas they are finding difficult and then help them to make progress in these areas.
For languages, I establish the reason for learning a language, whether that be for work or pleasure, and devise a suitable learning programme based in this.
I aim to enthuse and motivate people to learn. I make targeted use of games (where appropriate) to make learning fun and try to work with students' particular interests.
