ABOUT ME:
As a recent graduate from a Russell-group University (The University of Leeds), I have spent the past six years growing my tutoring service and working with some wonderful students!
I offer lessons for:
- Music: Piano, Violin and Music Theory,
- Primary Maths & English,
- 11+ exam preparation.

Tutoring Approach

PRIMARY & 11+ PREP: I strive for these lessons to be fun and engaging. I have found that this is the best way to keep children of this age range motivated and excited about learning. Most lessons will start with a simple maths or english game. Then, the bulk of the lesson is explaining and working through questions together. Homework is set after each lesson to be completed during the week which helps to monitor progress and find any trickier spots.
- Maths lessons will cover topics in the school curriculum, using workbooks that follow the curriculum to ensure a broad range of suitable topics are covered.
- English lessons cover all aspects of the curriculum too, but time will be dedicated specifically to reading aloud and working on spellings each lesson. This helps to increase the student's vocabulary which is essential for their literary education and helps to build up their independence in reading and writing.
- 11+ preparation needs to be highly structured and time in lessons will be spent mastering the techniques to gain the best results and succeed in these exams. I have written my own bank of questions to supplement the use of published workbooks. I attended both a state school and then later, a grammar school so have had first-hand experience adapting to a differing learning style and approach.

Not every student learns in the same way so I am accustomed to adapting every lesson to the specific individual and their needs. Together, we make sure we find any particularly difficult topics and work through these together.
My aim is for all lessons to always be educational, fun and tailored to the individual.
