Hi, I'm Sara. I offer structured lessons for A Level, GCSE and Yr 7 - 9 English.
I'm a former secondary school English teacher, with a first class honours in English Literature from King's College London.
I'm a former secondary school English teacher, with a first class honours in English Literature from King's College London. I have been tutoring and teaching for nine years.
Having worked in a Ofsted Outstanding school, I am very familiar with teaching and learning patterns, working with students of a variety of levels and creating a steady pace that works well for each individual student. Students are always taught with the mark scheme in mind, given consistent, constructive feedback and regularly revise content in lessons.
Most recently, I had a student who started lessons with me in Yr 10, beginning around Grade 5 and achieving a Grade 8 in her final GCSE exams.
Working out the base level of each student and catering different exercises and activities to work on their weak areas. I work through different techniques on how to analyse texts and poems, how to structure essays, including developing writing styles to a high standard and achieving mark scheme criteria. Regular assessments are set to test and supplement the work done in class.
I do 1 to 1 and teach online with structured PowerPoint lessons that I share on screen.
