As a Head of Economics and Business Studies in a private school in Staffordshire, with over 20 years of experience teaching A Level Economics, A Level Business and GCSE Business I am very skilled at focusing on improving students grades and their enjoyment of these fascinating subjects.
As a practicing teacher I am a hardworking yet friendly and fun teacher, with a significant amount of success in supporting students. I have examined AQA Economics A Level and AQA Business A Level and realise the significant amount of technique now required to succeed. I have also successfully tutored Edexcel and OCR Economics.

Tutoring Experience

As an actively working teacher of Economics and Business Studies I have developed a passion for the application of mathematics. As a result I also really enjoy supporting students who are struggling to achieve their target grade at Maths GCSE. I believe understanding the reason for the required calculations improves students attainment. I have successfully tutored 4 students online 2022-2023

Tutoring Approach

Exam focused.
By initially using concise knowledge checks for each topic then students can quickly start to complete past paper questions. I provide supportive writing frames and use reflective feedback to concentrate on technique, knowledge and application. Overall, I use encouraging and stretching assessment to drive students and as their marks improve they gain the confidence to achieve their goal.
