I am an experienced English teacher and have taught in secondary schools in the cities of London, Liverpool and Cambridge as well as Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire. I love my subject - English - and hope to inspire as well as support students.
I can help students stay focused on their English studies as they catch up after the school shutdowns during the pandemic.
I'm also happy to help casual learners who wish to widen their knowledge of English Literature.
With ten years secondary school teaching experience, I have in-depth knowledge of teaching English from Yr7 upto GCSE and ‘A’ Level, and know what is required to achieve success in these exams. I am an experienced A Level examiner and have also taught English for the IB diploma and so can support students studying this qualification too.
By offering individual support and guidance to students I can respond to their specific needs. Whether a student wants help with understanding of specific exam texts, practising exam and essay techniques, or increasing their wider knowledge, I can help improve their confidence and ability in their English studies.
I currently offer in-person sessions from my home or online for students who live further away. In special circumstances, I can also offer to travel to meet with the student, if other tutoring committments allow me the extra time to do so.
