I began tutoring almost four years ago, just before the pandemic. Since then, I have amassed over 2,000 hours experience with students from all over the world - for this reason, I have a strong knowledge of various curriculums and have read my fair share of books along the way!
I still work a 9-5 job in the PR industry but do an average of three hours every day of tutoring after work and all through the weekend. This works out rather well with the school schedule, giving students the time to get home and decompress from the day before they join my lesson.
As a number of my students are abroad (Korea and Dubai), I have a lot of experience with preparing students for UK school entrance exams. Having had to sit one myself when I was at school, I know how much pressure this is at a young age and do my best to prepare each student in a calm and collected environment.
Many of my students have been with me for a number of years as they progress through the course and I’m proud to say that in addition to my teaching, this is also due to the friendly relationship I have built with them and their parents. I make sure I am always contactable and always respond to my clients promptly.
When I was at school, my parents got me a tutor for maths and physics and I found that the one-on-one time I had, not only increased my knowledge but really helped build my confidence to put my hand up in school and contribute more to lessons. This is something I like to do for my students now that I am on the other side of that desk. Many parents speak to me about this being a side effect of my tutoring lessons and I have to say, it's one of my proudest achievements.
