I am a Year 6 Primary school teacher with a strong knowledge of the new curriculum as well as the requirements for grammar school entrance tests. I became a teacher through my love of sport; teaching swimming to children led my into the career I love. In my spare time I compete in triathlon so spend a lot of time training for that!
During my 12 year teaching career, I have taught in both KS1 and KS2 and have Year 6 SATs experience. Alongside teaching, I have completed a Masters in Education, which has hugely benefited my knowledge as well as expanding my experiences. In addition to teaching a full timetable, I have held after school focus groups to give key children a boost in preparation for their end of year tests.
I set high expectations with all children I teach and expect the them to work hard. I have a solid ability to adapt to different situations by tailoring my approach to suit the child. My assessment skills are strong and I am able to identify gaps in a child's learning and work towards closing those gaps. I am also a friendly, fun teacher who manages a good balance between hard work, satisfaction, and enjoyment.
