I am Sarah, I have two biological children and two step-children and a fun-loving household full of furry and reptilian pets!
I have had extensive experience in the classroom and as a tutor. I believe in the importance of supporting children to develop confidence, independence and resilience to help them become lifelong learners.
I work with both mainstream and SEN students, including those with ASD, ADHD, PDA, dyslexia, and dyscalculia. With personal experience of supporting children with additional needs, as both of my own children have SEND, I’m deeply committed to helping every student reach their potential.

I’m a passionate, experienced teacher who truly loves my work! I graduated in 2003 with QTS in Environmental Science and have been tutoring since 2006. I have taught across the primary range, from Foundation Stage (Reception) to Year 6, with my last school based role focusing on Nursery and Reception. While my school teaching experience is with younger children, I also have confidence in teaching older students, with most of my tutoring currently focused on Key Stage 3 and GCSE students. I also teach college and mature students who are sitting Functional Skills exams or GCSE's.
I also hold these self-studied qualifications:
Safeguarding in Education (2024)
Understanding Children and Young People’s Mental Health (2024)
Autism Awareness Diploma (2024)
Special Educational Needs Advanced Diploma (2024)
Child protection in Education (2022)
UK Data Protection - Education (2022)
Safeguarding Young People (2022)
The Prevent Duty (2022)
Understanding Anxiety (2022)
Understanding Low Mood and Depression (2022)
Understanding Self Harm (2022)
Prevent Awareness (2022)
Over the years, I’ve developed a flexible teaching style that caters to a wide range of learning preferences. I combine a structured and fun approach, creating a supportive and relaxed learning environment. By continuously assessing progress and adjusting targets and resources, I ensure lessons are tailored to meet each student’s unique needs.
