I am an experienced teacher, with over 30 years' experience teaching in UK schools and British curriculum international schools, most recently as Assistant Head of a prep school in Hampshire. I now work exclusively as Removed tutor, specialising in maths tuition and preparation for 11+ entrance exams, including verbal and non-verbal reasoning. I live in the New Forest and, in my spare time, I enjoy reading, walking, and learning about local history and foraging.
I have worked in a range of independent schools within Hampshire and the Middle East, predominantly within KS2, but with experience in KS1 and KS3 as well. I have led maths, science and PSHE at different times in my career and, most recently, was responsible for assessment and data across the whole school, as well as secondary school applications and transfer. I have a sound working knowledge of the KS2 curriculum, as well as the specific requirements for a range of assessments and 11+ entrance exams, including GL, ISEB and CAT4.
With a passion for empowering students to achieve their potential and take pride in their own achievements, I am proficient in planning, delivering, and evaluating lesson content in line with children's individual needs and abilities, encouraging them to question and explain their own thinking.
