I am a married mother of two, who offers tutoring to learners of primary age. I am a qualified primary school teacher, Governor at a local primary school and I am keen to tutor as I enjoy seeing learners progress not only in their academic ability but in their confidence too.
I am a qualified teacher with seven years classroom experience in a variety of roles. This unique experience has provided me with an understanding of the diverse ways in which children learn as well as allowing me to quickly understand the needs of those I teach, be it academic or otherwise. I have lots of experience with a wide variety of learners thus allowing me to use strategies to support and challenge those I teach depending on their individual needs. My experience spans the whole of the primary age-range from nursery to KS2.
I take guidance from parents/carers as to the areas they wish me to teach and I use this to feed into the first session where I gauge where the child are educationally. From there, I carefully plan lessons according to the needs of the child and am happy to feed back at the end of each session to the parent or carer. I tend to set homework if I believe it is of value to the progress of the child although I am very careful not to overload the child because this can result in a lack of motivation.
I would be more than happy to respond via email to your questions.
