Having studied Medicine at and graduated from the University of Birmingham, I have dedicated myself to the world of academia and educational coaching. Tutoring takes place at a professional business office in Stanmore. Lessons are rewarding, thought provoking and enjoyable! As a specialist full time tutor in Biology, Chemistry, Maths, Physics, Sciences, English, School Entrance Exams (7+, 11+, 13+, ISEB) and Medical & Dental Entrance (BMAT, UKCAT, GAMSAT, IMAT, personal statement and interview coaching), I have several years of tutoring experience which includes 1-2-1, group, online tutoring and revision crash courses. I have developed my own tutoring company and professional website (with superb resources for all ages). All tutoring formats are available including one to one, group lessons, online tutoring and revision crash courses.
My ethos follows Mahatma Gandhi's famous quotation: “Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.”
My interest in tutoring stems from my experience in Medicine where one has to educate and teach colleagues and patients alike. Having been part of the interviewer panel at the University of Birmingham Medical School, I am able to offer top tips and advice on how to gain admission into medical schools both nationally and internationally. I have a superb track record in terms of admissions to medical universities, Oxbridge and top private and grammar schools across the country. As well as being an examiner for multiple UK exam boards at GCSE and A-level, I have also won multiple tutoring accolades.
There are great similarities in terms of the skills and personality required of good tutors and doctors. Examples of these include; patience, perseverance, the ability to listen and communicate effectively, honesty, integrity, confidentiality, reflective practice, continuous learning and professional development.
I am enthusiastic about teaching and motivating others to discover, develop and achieve their full potential. I strive for the maximum and encourage my students to do the same. I achieved superb A-level results with above 90% passes in Maths, Chemistry, Biology and Economics with a near-perfect 100% in Biology. My GCSE results were also very impressive.
I tutor and coach students of all ages and abilities.I am also experienced in SEN tutoring and have tutored students with various levels of dyslexia. My specialist subjects and areas of expertise are; degree level Medicine; BMAT, UKCAT and GAMSAT; University admissions, personal statements and interview preparation (MMI, panel and Oxbridge); A-level Chemistry, Biology, Human Biology, Maths and Economics; and GCSE Maths, English, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and the Sciences. I also cover all the Key Stages, SATs, Common Entrance, ISEB, 7+, 11+ and 13+ entrance exams for top private and grammar schools across the country. Maths, English, VR, NVR and Science are covered in detail together with past papers and exam technique to ensure effective preparation and optimal chance of success. As you will note, my results over the last 5 years have been amazing with over 90% of my students getting into their first choice selective schools such as Haberdashers', MT, NLCS, QE boys, Henrietta Barnet,Westminster and St Paul's.
I have a profound interest in education and coaching. I have helped many students get into Medicine and Dentistry and have tutored several medical students in their pre-clinical and clinical years. I have successfully helped several candidates with their University personal statements, entrance exams (including BMAT, UKCAT, GAMSAT, IMAT, TSA and the American SATs) and interview preparation (including the new MMIs, panel and Oxbridge interviews). The vast majority (greater than 97%) of my students have gone on to achieve excellent exam results and have gained entrance into top schools, colleges, universities and degree courses. More than 97% of my students achieve A*/A at A-level and level 9/8 at GCSE in the subjects I tutor them. More than 90% of my entrance exam students have gained admission into their first choice schools, colleges and Universities, many of which are highly selective, prestigious and among the best in the country. More than 90% of my medical and dental applicants get into their first choice University.
My approach to teaching is focused on and tailored to meet the needs of the individual learner. Lessons are interactive, captivating, fun and rewarding. Much attention is paid to exam technique and structuring of answers as well as the theoretical content. My approach to teaching motivates and inspires students and builds their confidence. I have the unique ability of making difficult and challenging topics appear interesting, rewarding and easy. I cover all the exam boards and all aspects of the syllabus.
My experience also extends to in-school teaching. I had the privilege of teaching A-level students at a local academy school for a full semester. The experience was rewarding and insightful. Within a short space of time, I was able to significantly improve the students' results and motivation levels. I also have experience of marking and examining GCSE and A-level papers for Biology, Chemistry and Maths.
I have tutored many students from prestigious schools such as Merchant Taylors, Haberdashers, North London Collegiate, QE Boys, Henrietta Barnet, St Helen's, St Paul's, Westminster, Harrow School, St Martins, St Johns, Radlett prep, Northwood College, Parmiter's, Dr Challoner's , St Michael's and Watford Grammar. On the same token, I have successfully helped many students get into the finest schools and universities, including Oxford, Cambridge and Eton. My tutoring services extend internationally as well.
I also specialise in tutoring external candidates who are going to be doing their studies and/or exams independently from their schools, for example because they may be resit candidates. This means I am able to teach the entire syllabus on a one-to-one or small group basis and cover all aspects of exam preparation, revision, techniques and past papers. The papers can then be sat in external exam centres. Over the last 3 years alone, I have tutored 18 A-level students in this way (10 As and 8A*s), 6 GCSE students (all level 9s) and 2 university students (one got 1st and the other 2:1).
I offer a bespoke and very high quality tutoring service. My ambition is to become the finest tutor in the country. I would be happy to discuss your particular needs. My USP is simply my personality, professionalism, reliability and enthusiasm for the subjects I tutor and in education in general. I strongly believe the quality of lessons is far more important than the quantity.
If you are looking for quality tuition and for someone who is really inspirational with a proven track record, then look no further as you have found the right person!
All clients travel to me for lessons or lessons can be online which is equally effective because of interactive facilities.
As an educational consultant, I am able to offer specialist advice on a range of educational matters such as admissions, entrance exams, work experience, exam techniques, resits, UCAS, personal statements, University/School selection etc.
Due to the high level of commitment I put into my work and the success and satisfaction I achieve from it, I expect an equal level of commitment from the client; please see my tutoring contract below which all clients MUST abide with.
