Hi there! My name is Seb, I'm 29 years old and I am a friendly, supportive and fun tutor for Maths, English and Drama. In my spare time I can be found testing my mental arithmetic, playing the piano, writing plays, stories and theatre reviews or performing.

Tutoring Experience

I have been tutoring for three years across several platforms and also independently. I have taught (and still teach) students of all ages and on my old platform received only 5 star reviews!
I have taught using AQA, Edexcel and OCR exam boards so have extensive knowledge of all three.

As a trained actor, I have a background not only in theatre but also theatre in education. Throughout 2017 and 2018 I worked for Quantum Theatre, touring across UK Primary Schools performing a Maths-based educational play called 'The Adventure of the Missing number.' In fact, there is a good chance that your child may have been in the audience whilst I was teaching the times tables as esteemed detective Dr. Waffle!

Tutoring Approach

I strongly believe that everybody learns in their own unique way and endeavour to adapt my teaching style to suit each learner. I want my student to feel comfortable yet confident, ready to tackle the subject in a fresh, fun way which will hopefully also show them that learning does not have to be a chore!
To help achieve this, it is important for me to identify any 'problem topics' that my student feels like they just can't get their head around, as well as what type of learner they are so that we can work towards approaching the lesson in a way that will engage them.

A quick chat at the start of each lesson to outline our topics and goals for the day and away we go!
I have a strong knowledge of the curriculum and exam boards through GOV UK's curricular guidelines and related online learning resources - if there are specific topics or resources you would like me to work with then please let me know in advance and I'd be more than happy to accommodate wherever possible.

Please note - I offer both online and in person lessons but if in person I do charge pro rata for travel time if over 10 minutes each way :)
