Hello there! My name is Shahmeer and I'm a Dental Student studying at King’s College London. I have always been passionate about my studies, with Maths & the Sciences being my strongest subjects. Tutoring Experience

During my time at sixth form and throughout my time so far at university, I have regularly tutored students in lower years who struggled on core subjects. By offering clear guidance on how to approach the material and sharing effective study techniques, I supported them throughout their learning journeys and witnessed their grades steadily improve to meet their targets and beyond. My teaching style and personalised approach played a key role in their progress, and their gratitude reinforced my passion for tutoring. I’m confident that I can bring this same tailored method to students on First Tutors.

Having completed both GCSEs and A-Levels under the new syllabus, I’m fully familiar with the updated specifications and can guide students on how to effectively tackle the new exam formats. Additionally, with over 4 years of experience as an independent private tutor as well as working for several other companies such as 6 med, I’ve worked with students at various academic levels and with diverse abilities, equipping me with the skills to adapt my teaching to meet individual needs.

Tutoring Approach

I believe that active learning is key. I start by ensuring the student has grasped the key concepts related to the topic at hand, and then I test their knowledge through past paper questions. I have them show me their thought process using an online whiteboard. For any questions they struggle with, I guide them step by step so they can understand my approach and learn effectively. Encouraging questions is a cornerstone of my teaching style, as it is the key to a deeper understanding.
