Ahmad Shahvaiz

My name is Shahvaiz Fawad and I have recently completed my Master's degree from Warwick University in Global & Comparative History. I completed my Bachelor's in Modern History from the University of Essex a few years ago and have experience of teaching at GCSE level at Secondary school level.

Tutoring Experience

I have spent two years teaching my younger brother GCSE History from 2018 to 2020. In this time period, I have taught him some very challenging topics such as democracy and dictatorship in Germany 1918-1945, The Cold War(1946-1991), and the Fall of Monarchy and Revolution in Russia(1905-1924). I provided my brother with an in-depth account of all these major topics and taught him how to answer the questions in an analytical and eloquent manner. My brother managed to get Level 8 in his GCSE History exam which is the equivalent of an A*. My brother was extremely satisfied with the manner in which I had taught him these difficult topics.
I have also taught another student in my neighborhood GCSE History and was required to teach him challenging topics such as the Vietnam War(1955-1975), Mussolini's Italy(1922-1943), and the Causes/Effects of the First World War(1910-1919). This student managed to get level 7 in GCSE History in his results which is equivalent to an A grade. This student was extremely pleased with the fact that I taught him some extremely difficult topics and guided him in regards to attempting the questions in a manner that would allow him to obtain the highest possible marks in the examination.

Tutoring Approach

My approach to teaching is quite simple. it is important to be patient and courteous when dealing with young adolescents so that it can be easier to impart one's knowledge and help them gain a better understanding of the subject. I also believe that the role of a teacher is to simplify complex topics and make them understandable for students so that the process of learning can be enjoyable and the best possible results can be achieved.
