I am a self-professed nerdy person, with a love for education but sadly a dislike of the current system, which put me off becoming a qualified teacher. I am a confident, organised person with a passion for supporting young people. I have an inherent love for academia and I really enjoy working to help others feel the same.
As the oldest sibling, my experience teaching started very young! I helped my younger siblings with their SATs and GCSEs, set up study groups during my own GCSEs and A Levels, and have since worked in various education roles, teaching in all but name! Previously I was a Lead Senior Education Worker, supporting young people ages 7-18 with their academic work and future aspirations, before moving to my current role in Looked After Children’s Education Services. I have experience working with learners from lots of backgrounds, including SEN and EAL considerations.
My creative background means I can approach sessions with a unique lens, using the learner’s strengths and interests to frame a topic in a positive way for them. I am very patient, understanding, and resilient, and firmly believe in every student’s own abilities. I particularly enjoy content creation, and will often design new activities and games for my students.
