I love my subject and want all of my students to succeed. When I'm not teaching maths I love to walk the fells whatever the weather, I don't allow setbacks to get in my way.
I started teaching in a sixth form college before deciding to focus on individual students as a tutor. I have been tutoring since 2017 teaching primary, secondary and adult tutees. Whilst most of my students have been local to the South Lakes, others have been willing to come from as far as Lancaster and Penrith. As a result, I began teaching online well before current circumstances made this a more usual way of working.
Success in mathematics requires effort and commitment from both teacher and student. I treat each of my students as an individual and spend time to find their specific strengths as well as the areas of mathematics which require more focussed attention. My students are characterised by their confidence, enthusiasm and success.
