Hoi Ying

Hello! My name is Sophia and I am a 3rd year medical student studying at the University of Bristol. I achieved top grades in my GCSEs (11 grade 9s) and A levels (A* A A), as well as in my medical school UCAT admissions test. I also earned a 2- year academic scholarship for my sixth form years through my excellent GCSE results. Having gone through A levels and the medicine application process, I understand how stressful and hard it is and I would like to guide students to achieve the best grades they can to get into their dream university. I am passionate and patient in teaching students, and eager to improve students’ confidence in exams and university interviews. I will tailor classes to each student to ensure they can understand material in the best way they can.

Tutoring Approach

I like to tailor lessons to each student’s weaker areas of study and explain concepts in depth to ensure they understand the content completely. I also go through practice questions with students to consolidate their learning. At the end of each lesson, I also find it helpful to write down key points learnt during the lesson as to outline what can be covered further next class. I look forward to meeting some of you!
