I am currently training to be a History Teacher at the University of Glasgow after completing my degree inEnglish Literature and History at the same University where I achieved a 2:1. I have tutored a variety of levels over the past 4 years, with each receiving excellent results in exams/class tests. I believe it is not only about teaching the skills and knowledge but the confidence to believe in themselves when it comes to exams!
Tutoring Experience
Alongside my teacher training, I have tutored multiple students in N5/H English and History, all receiving A/B grades. I also have tutored primary school children in English. I am confident working with learning difficulties at all age levels.
Tutoring Approach
While tutoring English at N5/Higher Level, I would first work out what the student’s weak points are and go from there. I offer a take on Close Reading Papers and also Set text (poems etc.) that allows students to approach their answers like using building blocks to ensure they are getting every mark possible.
