I am a primary school teacher and am currently on maternity leave. I am looking to help any children who are finding things tricky or who need a challenge.
My strengths are with children from Year 3-6, and I am also able to support those prepping for 11+ exams.
I am a very patient person and have knowledge of different strategies and methods to support children. I get along with children very well as I take time to get to know them and their interests; I then use this to support me in helping them to further their learning and independence.
I have been teaching since 2015 and was History subject leader before leading English. I have taught the past 3 years in Year 6 but also have experience in Year 3 and 5 as well as tutoring Year 6 children in preparation for their SATs. I am able to adapt my teaching style to meet the needs and interest of the individual child. I have worked with many children who have special educational needs and are lower ability as well as children who are higher achievers.
I will begin by assessing their needs to ensure that I am aware of their strengths and weaknesses. I can then plan and adapt sessions by using different types of resources in order to aid their learning. I will also take into account any key areas which parents feel the child may need support in and discuss these along with strategies to help them.
