I am a Geography graduate (Environmental and Human specialisms) from Keble College, Oxford currently undertaking an Accountancy qualification. I am able to teach English up to AS Level, Maths up to A Level, Geography up to university level and also provide some guidance for Oxbridge interviews and the admissions tests. During my GCSEs, I gave my younger sister interview practice for 11+ interviews and helped her with core subjects (English, Maths and Non-Verbal/Verbal Reasoning). In Sixth Form, I mentored pupils lower down the school up to GCSE level, as well as volunteered at a local primary school at lunchtimes to give pupils an introduction to Latin.
Over the past seven years, I have tutored many students across a range of subjects and levels, including GCSE and Primary School Maths and English, A Level Geography and helping Sixth Form students with admissions to Oxford University. In total, I have done upwards of 500 hours of tutoring. Having graduated fairly recently from Latymer Upper School in West London, a prestigious independent London day school, and with a sibling still at school, I am familiar with the syllabi and how to help pupils flourish. I obtained 2A*s and 2As at A Level, so I am certain I could add value to students' learning trajectory, whether that be through a focus on work ethic and exam technique or refining knowledge in a subject area which they find more challenging.
Thus far, I have had a wonderful tutoring experience both online and in person, building up a strong relationship with each of my tutees and taking pride in watching them progress towards reaching their goals. I consider myself enthusiastic, engaging, professional, friendly and organised and therefore believe I can help students unlock their full potential.
I take the stance that tutees are more than capable of achieving their academic goals, but may just need some encouragement to build their confidence and be given some guidance. I love to work alongside tutees and watch them progress in a friendly, comfortable environment. I also find that giving tutees homework can be beneficial for some subjects so that this can be discussed in the subsequent session. Interaction is key and requires an equal amount of input from both the tutor and tutee.
