Hi I'm Spencer, and I'm currently in my final year of study for my master's degree in physics. I am passionate about encouraging the next generation of physicists and mathematicians, as they are the future. I am well versed in explaining high level topics in an understandable and manageable fashion. I firmly believe that with the bright young minds of today, an equally bright future is possible. This is why I will endeavour to harness your child's ability and help them thrive in their studies to give them opportunities wherever they may wish to go.

Tutoring Experience

I have experience delivering lessons to large groups of students on modern, complicated physics concepts, at a level they understand. With the use of practical and theoretical demonstration, I have taken students from having zero knowledge on a topic to having them explain it to me in only a few hours. I believe this process will be expedited in a 1-to-1 setting with full attention devoted to your child.

I have also been through everything your child is experiencing academically fairly recently, so I have a firm grasp on all the topics they will be studying. As well as this, I understand the pitfalls and hurdles they may experience in trying to understand certain concepts. With this knowledge, I believe that your child will thrive under my guidance.

Tutoring Approach

My teaching approach involves first assessing your child's level of understanding of each topic we will cover by way of a series of questions varying in difficulty. Once this is done, I aim to get to know your child on a personal level to gauge what they themselves feel they are struggling with before we start any tutoring.

As far as lesson plans, I will curate a bespoke plan for your child based on their strengths and weaknesses assessed earlier, This will be a mixture of teaching and practical work with full support available throughout. We will have regular lessons, following a structured curriculum inline with what your child is studying at the time. Periodically I will reevaluate your child's level of understanding to see if the method I am using is really helping. If it is not helping as much as it should, I will reevaluate myself and the methods I use to best suit your child. At the end of the day, this is all about them and every child is unique.
