I'm Head of Maths at Newcastle and Stafford College.
I've marked SATS, GCSE & A Level Papers for all exam boards for many years & now focus on my role as Senior Examiner for one of the Main UK & International Boards.

Tutoring Experience

Since 2009, I've taught all age groups at all levels.
Since 2018, I've been Head of Maths at Newcastle & Stafford Colleges, and focus nearly all of my time on A Level Maths & Further Maths. I will consider GCSE students Y10 or Y11 for private tuition.

Tutoring Approach

One to One, I aim to build a strong professional relationship with a student.
Weekly lessons will ensure the best results.
I will focus on topic by topic according to my own Curriculum, and tailor according to the Student's School Curriculum.
I will NOT complete student school homework assignments, but rather set each student weekly targets based on self-study resources and question sets.
Within 4 or lessons, there will be a routine to each lesson consisting of :
overcome issues from last week's targets
set extra work on this as required
begin new topic and attain a reasonable standard in required methods/processes
set targets for next lesson.
In almost all previous series of lessons with my previous students (several hundred private students), each student following this plan has not only achieved their target grade for University/Apprenticeships, but in many cases exceeded their target/required grade.
