Having been teaching for over 30 years now, I am a patient and experienced tutor, who has a significant track record of boosting the self-belief of my students and convincing them that they are much better at their studies than they think they are! Learning in a fun way is much more effective and builds a love of learning, which is positive for all students!
In my spare time, I enjoy watching most Sports, have an allotment and enjoy walking and theatre visits with my wife.

Tutoring Experience

I am an experienced Primary Teacher, who has also enjoyed tutoring for about 10 years now - from Year 2 and Key Stage 2 support towards SATS, 11+ and School Entrance Exams to GCSE Maths and Science Tuition.
If the student's confidence needs boosting, please give me a try, as that is a definite strength of my tuition!

Tutoring Approach

Positivity and self-belief are keys for progress and academic success, so I reinforce basic skills within the student and build confidence by using clear demonstrations of key skills and encouraging the student to try example questions free from any fear of failure.
We are all human and need to realise that mistakes are part of a learning process - as long as they are learnt from and not repeated too often, of course!
All students learn in a unique way, so I work on finding what "makes them tick" and then aim to build on their previous achievements towards greater confidence in their own abilities.
