I am a semi-retired university academic with 30 years experience of teaching research methods and quantitative data analysis procedures principally in the area of psychology. Around ten years ago I published a book on undergraduate statistics with Macmillan pubs., which I have used as the basis for much of my teaching since.
Thirty years of teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level. Experience of supervision of PhD students - five to completion.
I attempt to match the learning strategy of the student. For example in the case of a student uncomfortable with statistics I take a non-numerical approach by focusing on the concepts underpinning the analyses as opposed to simple number crunching.
