After completing an MA at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), Univeristy of London I worked in publishing before moving into teaching. I have lived in Sheffield for five years, teaching History and Politics. Before that I worked in two Birmingham-based grammar schools. I relish the challenge of helping students to develop their knowledge and understanding of History and Politics and attain the grades that will allow them to achieve their goals.
I have six years' experience teaching History (Key Stages 3 to 5) and Politics (A Level) to both girls and boys. I also prepare students for Oxbridge entry.
I plan my sessions focused on the individual needs of tutees, striving to use my in-depth subject knowledge to provide effective, easy to understand active learning tasks and content summaries to develop knowledge and understanding. I also develop skills tailored to exam board specifications, focused on the key areas examiners are looking for.
