I am a patient and caring experienced Primary teacher and have over 9 years experience in the classroom. I currently live in Hampshire, but originate from Lancashire. I am available during the day to tutor home-schooled children, and after school for Key Stage 1 and 2 pupils. I am able to offer online or face-to-face sessions. I have a current DBS certificate. I enjoy listening to, and playing music. I also love the outdoors and walking in the countryside.
I have over 9 years of classroom teaching at primary level, planning and teaching all subjects in the Primary curriculum, including maths, reading, writing and phonics, adapting tasks for children of all abilities. Prior to training as a teacher, I worked as a teaching assistant for three years. I have taught pupils who have English as a second language and also children with differing special educational needs, modifying tasks to ensure they can be achieved. I have also worked in school as a tutor for the National Tutor Programme.
I believe that children learn best when they are enjoying their learning and I use a multi-sensory approach to make my sessions fun, active and practical. Each session is tailored to meet your child's specific needs, enabling them become more resilient and develop in confidence. I identify gaps in learning and build on prior knowledge so your child can make progress at their own pace, and grow to become independent learners.
