I am a first year at LSE doing a Bsc in Economics. I am a driven student who has achieved perfect grades across GCSEs and A Levels which highlights my aptitude for learning. I am passionate to share my knowledge with my students to help build their confidence in Maths and Chemistry by developing their understanding of topics and applying their knowledge to tricky exam-style questions.

Tutoring Experience

I have 2 years of experience teaching struggling students maths at GCSE level at Tiffin School which allowed me to perfect my teaching style. Currently I am helping a Yr 12 student with their university application including preparation for the TMUA exam. I also am tutoring a student for the 11+ entrance examination and I have seen significant progress with his ability to tackle hard maths questions. I have also constantly helped my peers in A-Level maths and chemistry and this proved to be very effective.

Tutoring Approach

I plan to hold one-to-one lessons lasting 1 hour. Lessons can be online or at the students house. The structure of the lesson will be tailored differently for each student. They can include covering content directly from the specification to help build understanding of difficult topics. I will also go through exam-style questions to help apply knowledge to typical questions that often appear in exams. Students can also bring any questions they have struggled on to get further help on. I plan to build a supportive environment for students by guiding them to the correct answer whilst encouraging them to explore different routes instead of just supplying the correct method. This allows students to be able to problem solve in the exam and be more competent in adapting to difficult questions.
