Maths Lessons in Sale

I am a friendly, patient аnd аpprоаchаble tutor with over 15 years of experience teaching students from a wide range of backgrounds. My aim is always to help them become more confident in their abilities and reach their full potential. I find it hugely rewarding seeing tutees improve and gain grades they had believed were out of reach.
I studied Mаths, Further Mаths, Physics аnd Chemistry at A level, then went on to Cambridge University to study Natural Sciences (where I gained a double first).

I worked as a research scientist in the past but have concentrated on tutoring since having a family. I understand the pressures of family life and that occasionally sessions need to be cancelled or rescheduled. I can usually rearrange given reasonable notice.

I offer 1-to-1 sessions but can also teach online if timing or distance for in-person lessons doesn't work. I can be very flexible arranging lessons during sixth form free periods. Nearly all slots after 4pm are currently filled, but I have good daytime availability for AL students who may start late or finish early on certain days.

Since a successful student-tutor relationship is crucial, I offer an introductory session free of charge to find out what you want to achieve and ensure that you are happy with my approach. There is no obligation to book future sessions and no minimum number of sessions.

Tutoring Experience

I have been a self-employed tutor since 2007, specialising in tutoring A-level and GCSE maths (all exam boards, with expertise in pure maths, statistics and mechanics).
I аlsо tutоr Physics / Chemistry / Biology / Combined Science at KS3 and GCSE, and maths from KS3 upwards.

I have volunteered in primary schools for many years and worked part-time at my local school, so have up to date DBS checks.

Tutoring Approach

I work with each individual to find out exactly what they are looking for from extra tuition, whether that is to reinforce and consolidate topics they are struggling with at school, or concentrate on exam practice/past papers. I always stick closely to the specification being followed to make sure we cover the right material efficiently and effectively.
I can provide notes, resources, past papers and revision materials.

One-to-one tutoring is quite different to a classroom setting - I like to develop a good rapport with my students so that they stay engaged and lessons are relaxed and interactive.
