I am a friendly, patient and helpful BA French & Spanish Graduate (2017-2021) from the University of Leicester offering private tuition for GCSE, A Level, ab initio/beginners university study, as well as beginner-intermediate adult learners in both languages.

I chose to study languages at university because I am very passionate about the importance of foreign languages, learning and education and learning about other cultures. I studied French at GCSE and have family who have lived in Spain for over 40 years. From this, I studied both French and Spanish at A Level; I self-taught the AS Level Spanish course before being able to join the A Level course at my Sixth Form, and owing to a lack of students had to self-teach the A Level French course.

At university, I have spent the last four years studying both languages to a high level (C1 CEFR), and spent my third year living in France and Spain, improving my fluency and confidence.

I am happy to work with students working towards specific exams and tests, adult beginners/lower intermediate, and teaching for child-learners, and would love to help you or your child become more proficient in French or Spanish. I will be available for tutoring from September 2021.

Tutoring Experience

Since 2017 I have worked part-time in a nursery working with children aged 1-5 and have good experience with teaching methodology that can be applied across the ages and to adult learners.

My experience teaching myself to A Level standard and self-teaching German (from beginner level) gives me a good platform to understand what skills, focus points and tools are required for learning a language and hope to pass on what I have learnt to you.

I have also done some tutoring for GCSE students before while I was in Sixth Form, helping to correct coursework for the final grade, practicing speaking skills and conversation, working on grammar and memorising vocabulary.

Tutoring Approach

I have always been passionate about learning languages and strongly believe they can be a pivotal tool for improving communication with others (even in our native languages), building confidence, improving employability and skills sets, learning about other cultures and building understanding, all of course, while having fun.

My approach is to take into account what you want to learn, what your goals are where you want to take your language learning, as well as honing in on areas for improvement and making an action plan to specifically target these areas.
