I just completed my masters program at Newcastle University. I currently work with a civil engineering company in the Newcastle area but I still have a passion for teaching. I would love to help young students discover their academic abilities and gain confidence in them.
I have taught Maths, Chemistry and Physics for three years both in classrooms and one-on-one private lessons. My second private student earned an A in Chemistry after failing his previous exam. That's when I realized that my love for teaching coincided with my ability to teach.
I have a student centered approach to teaching where I gradually shift the responsibility of learning from myself to the student.
Learning happens in the mind and every mind is different. I try to understand how my student learns. Some need a little push, some need encouragement, some need to believe that their efforts are not futile. But everyone enjoys the reward of earning a good grade. I use my student centered approach to help my students achieve their best results and then I begin to teach them how to learn independently.
