Tutoring Experience

Having taught in the state and private sector, as well as international work with touring theatre companies, I have worked with hundreds of wonderful learners. As a class teacher in the UK, I understand the expectations of the national curriculum and am experienced in teaching early reading / phonics. Over the course of my degree at Cambridge University I've studied the philosophy, psychology, history and sociology of education which informs my day-to-day teaching practice. I now work at a leading independent pre-prep school teaching children in KS1.

Tutoring Approach

After an initial free-of-charge phone call with you, I'll arrange a first tutoring session in which I'll make some initial assessments and develop a plan of learning.
If we are focusing on early reading and phonics, your child and I will focus around significant sound gaps whilst developing a love of reading.
If supporting your child with their English or Maths learning, I will create engaging and focused activities to support their areas of learning, feeding back to you on our progress after each session.
