My name is Thais and I am currently undertaking a Masters degree in Psychology and Neuroscience of Mental Health at King's College London. I am a patient individual, I adapt to work at the pace of my students.
I am half British and Half Brazilian. I have lived in both countries and grew up speaking both languages, I am equally confident in writing and spelling in both cases. Having studied Spanish at A levels and spent 4 years living in Barcelona, I am also able to speak fluent Spanish.
Most of my experience in tutoring is with younger children, I have worked as a nanny and a tutor for the past 4 years.
I am now looking to transition in to teaching adults in languages - English, Portuguese or Spanish as foreign languages. Teaching adults is new to me so I plan to be working with beginners and people that want to casually practice conversation.
I undertook my undergraduate degree in Classical Studies at King's College London in 2017-2020. If people are looking to learn more about the classical civilization I am happy to apply my knowledge in the area and tutor on this subject.
My style of teaching is flexible and casual. I would like to discuss with tutees the areas/subjects they would like strengthen their knowledge or ability in and then I will formulate a teaching plan.
This is very personal to what the individual would like to learn and practice. For instance, if the tutee needs revision or practice for an exam then we can look at exam boards and create lesson plans accordingly. If the tutee wishes to practice a language, improve fluency, we can plan lessons around certain topics and practice conversation.
