Private Online English and Spanish Tuition

I am a recent graduate of the University of Oxford, where I read History and Modern Languages. I have a particular interest in literature, and during my time at Oxford won several awards for my performance in literature examinations. I tutor history, Spanish, English language and English literature at all levels

Tutoring Experience

I have extensive experience tutoring clients in person in London. I have taught history, Spanish, English language and English literature at all levels, with a particular emphasis on exam/coursework help and Oxbridge applications. I lived for a year in Argentina and Spain, where I taught English language and literature to university students and adult learners.

Tutoring Approach

I tailor my teaching approach according to students' objectives, which I always ask during our first session.
For GCSE/A Level students, I like to place an emphasis on effective revision. For essay subjects, this is mainly a question of teaching students how to integrate the content of the course into the rubric of exam questions.
For Oxbridge Applicants, I have developed a programme to guide students through the aptitude test and interview process. Initially, we focus on guided reading and the creation of personal statements that can provide talking points in interviews; subsequently, we move on to one or more mock interviews, whose content I base on surveys of current students at the University of Oxford.
For adult/casual learners, I tend to take a freer approach, with an emphasis on cultural breadth and, in the case of language learners, oral fluency.
